Victoria Shamrocks Announce New Coach

The Victoria Shamrocks are pleased to announce Dan Green as their new head coach. Dan is well known in lacrosse circles in Victoria. He played as a member of the Victoria Junior ‘A’ MacDonald’s Bread team in 1973 before moving to Peterborough to finish his junior career with two consecutive Minto Cups. He returned to Victoria where he played several years with the Senior Shamrocks, earning Rookie of the Year recognition in 1976 and enjoying two Mann Cups, in 1979 and 1983.

Dan has also coached for a number of years, including several association head coaching stints in the Cowichan Valley and Saanich. The last 5 years he has been an assistant coach with the Victoria Senior Shamrocks.

I would like to thank all applicants for their interest and also thank Tyson Leies, Brett Savory and the rest of their support team for their efforts and accomplishments during the 2006 season.

Further announcements will be made over the next few days as Dan finalizes his support team.
