After fourteen games in the 2009 BCJALL season only Victoria and Coquitlam were undefeated. For game fifteen those two teams would face each other in a showdown for top spot and bragging rights around the league.

In the third Coquitlam would keep Victoria at bay and protect their lead which they never gave up to the Shamrocks. Pires and Kowalyk would score again but whenever the Shamrocks would score, the A's would pull a fast transition and score on their next offensive chance. Two goals from Marty Dinsdale and a final power play goal from Weir would ensure the win for the A's and put them in top spot in the BCJALL.
Corbyn Tao had a hand in Coquitlam's last six goals of the evening, and Trevor Moore led the A's with an eight point night (3 G, 5 A). When it came down to it Victoria could have had a better night if they only stayed out of the box. Although Coquitlam only converted three of their ten chances with the man advantage, it put a damper in their ability to get an offensive flow going. Towards the end of the match the heat turned up and emotions were running high, which will make a great platform for the next time these teams meet on June 20th in Victoria.
