THREE STARS: Degroot wins top honours
Each week we're seeing some fantastic individual performances, which is making our job a little tougher each week trying to find the three most suitable candidates for our three stars of the week.
Goalies that are seeing a lot of rubber are evidently stopping a lot of it, and bonafide scorers are putting in the ball in the net. This week, we get the best of both worlds as the league's leading scorer makes his first appearance, a consistent threat is given the week's top honours and a rookie goaltender is keeping his team in games every night.
1st STAR - SAM DEGROOT, PORT COQUITLAM SAINTS
LAST WEEK - 3 GAMES, 7 GOALS, 14 ASSISTS, 25 SHOTS (28% SHOOTING)
Degroot has been one of the more consistent point producers for the black and yellow since the start of the year. He had seven points in each of his three games over the course of the week and currently leads the Saints in scoring with 30 points in seven games.
Now, with guys like Keegan Bell and Connor Frost in the lineup regularly, Degroot won't regularly have to face lots of defensive coverage as teams will shift to other threats. He was a guy who scored when Port Coquitlam was having trouble putting the ball in the net at the start of the season, and he'll keep being that guy as we draw closer to playoffs.

2nd STAR - CONNOR ROBINSON, NEW WESTMINSTER SALMONBELLIES
LAST WEEK - 3 GAMES, 6 GOALS, 14 ASSISTS, 20 SHOTS (30% SHOOTING)
Robinson will likely go down as one of the more threatening Bellies in recent junior history. Barring injury, he will have played five full seasons for the club, and his numbers are dazzling. He's on pace to smash 100 points again this year, his third time in five years are he had 108 last year and 104 in 2014. He's been an over four point per game player through his entire five-year regular season tenure with the red, blue and white.
After 10 points in Victoria over the weekend put him to 44 through seven this year, Robinson is proving more explosive than ever. He also had a pair of five-point games in a close loss to Coquitlam and an overtime triumph over Langley.
3rd STAR - ELIJAH UEMA-MARTIN, BURNABY LAKERS
LAST WEEK -2 GAMES, 84 SHOTS AGAINST, 24 GOALS AGAINST, .749 SAVE %, 129:13 MINUTES
Uema-Martin is one of a few rookie goalies who are making a huge difference in the crease for their clubs. Much like Nanaimo's Darian Claxton, Uema-Martin won't be putting up the best stats, but he faces a huge workload lots of nights and has definitely exceeded expectations.
He made five critical saves in the overtime session of last weekend's draw with the Timbermen and was solid against Coquitlam. He also had a pair of assists in that game, proving to be a spark for the Lakers' fastbreak with his stick. He has three total on the season. He's third in the league in shots against, but Erik Kratz and Christian Del Bianco have both played at least 60 minutes more than the rookie.
If Burnaby is right in the thick of things in the stretch run to the playoffs, Uema-Martin is probably a big reason why.
