Stickmen Acquire Starchuk in Multi-Player Deal
Surrey Stickmen President and Governor, Joe Willmott announced today that the Surrey Stickmen have acquired Burnaby Lakers standout, Kyle Starchuk in a four player deal.
The Stickmen also receive Burnaby’s first and second round draft picks in this year’s inaugural Midget Free Agent Draft and a player to be named later. Going to Burnaby will be rookie prospect, Craig Smith and second year defender, Mike Gilmore.
Willmott stated “we are extremely pleased to have Kyle join the Stickmen organization. He is an elite player with character and will provide the kind of veteran leadership we need as we finish our rebuilding process.”
Last season, Starchuk finished the 2006 regular season with 39 Points with a power-house Burnaby Lakers team. Kyle has also played in two Minto Cups, winning in 2005.
