In their first meeting of the season the Lakers paid a visit to the Shamrocks on May 8th where a late third period comeback for Burnaby forced overtime, and they would eventually take the game by a score of 11-9. Sunday night in Burnaby you could smell a little bit of revenge cooking up, in the form of a visitor win from the Shamrocks.

Both parties were in agreence of what was going down, so both lids came off and it turned out to be not a bad tilt; each player landed initial blows but when they got closer they both took each other down and were separated. The rest of the period remained the same as the Shamrocks doubled up the Lakers by a score of 6-3, extracting the revenge as planned. There was no lack of emotion to this game, especially in the third period, and even Burnaby goalie MacDonald had to be held back from paying a visit to the Victoria bench at the end of the game.

Goaltending was a key part to this game and although MacDonald leaves with the loss he did make some key saves for Burnaby when needed. At the other end of the floor Hickey had a good night between the iron and except for some big rebounds, played a solid game making fourteen saves in the third period alone and only allowing one goal. Scoring was well dispersed for Victoria who had eleven players on the sheet, five of them with two points, and one of those being Hickey who had two assists in the winning effort.
