Player from Mission, BC Drafted First Overall in BCJALL Midget Draft

The Surrey Stickmen selected Devon Winter of Mission, BC first overall in the inaugural Provincial Midget Free Agent Draft on Sunday. Devon, considered one of the best 16 year old goaltenders in the province, started playing his minor lacrosse in Mission and finished his minor career playing Midget A1 for Ridge Meadows.

Stickmen President and Governor, Joe Willmott stated that "We were looking for goaltending depth in our player development system and Devon provides that. He has potential to be a Junior and professional star. In addition, he is an excellent young man and comes from a great family."

The Stickmen drafted a total of 15 players in the 2007 draft.
