National Standings | Week 9

Submitted by League Reporter, Jen Mutas

Just as they are in the BCJALL standings, the Coquitlam Adanacs and New Westminster Salmonbellies are neck and neck for yet another week in the LacrosseTalk National Ranks.

Week nine saw a switch between the two teams, the Adanacs now claim second spot with their 16-1-1 record, which consequently bumped the ‘Bellies into third overall in the country as they sit at 15-1-2. The logic behind the shuffle no doubt comes down to the second match of the three-game season series between the two BCJALL power houses, which went down last Wednesday and saw the A’s take the game by a score of 11-6.

The ‘Bellies may have had two ties so far this season but it took them seventeen games to become undefeated, and just like any good top-team rivalry it was the Adanacs who would dethrone them and bump them in the rankings. New West has two matches with the Nanaimo Timbermen before they play their last game of the season (which happens to be the last game of the regular season in the league) against you guessed it, the Adanacs.

Representing the other British Columbia team in the national rankings the Victoria Shamrocks move from ninth to tenth spot for week nine, as the ‘Rocks lost their two games last week to Delta and New West. With only one game left in their regular season schedule Victoria now has seven days to rest up and practice before they face Port Coquitlam on July 4th.
