National Standings | Week 8

Only one spot behind the Orangeville Northmen who are 15-0-0, the New Westminster Salmonbellies hold their second spot in the LacrosseTalk National Rankings for the third week in a row. The ‘Bellies last two wins have been by narrow one and two goal margins, but a win is a win and the team still remains the only undefeated team in the BCJALL.

The Coquitlam Adanacs sit just one point behind New West in the BCJALL standings, and also manage to hold their spot in the national ranks at third. The Adanacs only loss of the season has come at the hands of the ‘Bellies and this Wednesday the two heavyweights faceoff again, this time the A’s are at home and hoping to dish New West their first loss of the season. In keeping with the theme, both Island teams hold their spots as well; despite losses to Coquitlam and Langley, theVictoria Shamrocks win over Nanaimo this week was enough to hold them nationally. With eighteen games played so far the ‘Rocks are one of the teams who have seen the most floor time in BC, and are looking to finish strong in order to maintain third place in the BCJALL.

The Nanaimo Timbermen are neck and neck with the Lakers in the standings here on the coast (4th and 5th respectively), and this week the T-Men bumped Burnaby from the national rankings for tenth spot. Nanaimo host Delta on Friday night before making the trip to the mainland to take on- you guessed it- the Lakers; a game which will more than likely have an effect on the rankings for next week.
