Capturing their third consecutive British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League regular season title the COQUITLAM ADANACS keep their second place spot in the LacrosseTalk national standings for yet another week. The A’s are currently resting up and enjoying their bye into the second round of the post-season as they await the results of the quarterfinals.
Also awaiting first round results with a bye are the NEW WESTMINSTER SALMONBELLIES who were bumped one spot in the national ranks from third to fourth, switching spots with the Six Nations Arrows. After going undefeated for seventeen games the ‘Bellies ended the regular season with two losses to Nanaimo and Coquitlam, but they still retained second spot with an eleven point advantage over Victoria in third place.
Even after dropping game one of their quarter-final series with the Timbermen, the VICTORIA SHAMROCKS go from tenth spot to ninth in week eleven of the national ranks. The ‘Rocks look to even up the short best-of-three series on Tuesday night at the Nanaimo Ice Centre, and if game three is necessary it’s back to Bear Mountain Arena on Thursday night.
For the second week in a row honourable mention in the national standings go to the DELTA ISLANDERS who advanced to the semi-finals with back to back wins against Burnaby over the weekend. The Islanders are proving to be a serious threat in the post-season with their trade deadline acquisitions, and are currently riding a seven game win streak.
