Multiple moves with trade deadline approaching

Over the past week, there were a number of trades with the BC Junior A Lacrosse League trade deadline approaching (June 30 at midnight).

The Victoria Shamrocks shipped some big-name players to two mainland teams, sending Noah Manning to the Coquitlam Adanacs for the first-round selection in the 2027 BCJALL Entry Draft, fifth-round selection in the 2025 BCJALL Entry Draft and other future considerations. Victoria also sent the BCJALL playing rights of Kaden Granberg and Dylan Johannes to the Burnaby Lakers for future considerations.

Meanwhile, the Delta Islanders traded the Junior A playing rights for Silas Richmond and Austin Lamoureux and the Junior A & B1 playing rights for Joel Mullen to the Port Coquitlam Saints, with Delta receiving the Junior A & B1 playing rights to Ayden McDonald and Junior A playing rights to Marcus Chenard and future considerations in return from the Saints.

On June 19, the Langley Thunder traded Graysen Balatti to the Burnaby Lakers for future considerations.

Earlier in June, four teams were involved in trades.

Delta and New Westminster Salmonbellies were involved in one of those trades. Delta receives the Junior A and Junior B Tier 1 playing rights to Simon Poole and CJ Fahlke along with New Westminster’s second-round selection in the 2025 Junior Entry Draft (if New West has multiple selections the second round on the day of the draft, Delta will receive the earliest selection in the round) and New Westminster’s fourth-round selection in the 2026 Junior Entry Draft, along with future considerations.

New Westminster receives the Junior A playing rights to Chase Miller, along with future considerations.

Meanwhile, Burnaby and Langley also swapped players, with Burnaby receiving the Junior A playing rights of goalkeeper Brayden Wandler from Langley, and Langley receiving the Junior A and Junior B Tier 1 playing rights of Ryan Sheldrake from Burnaby, along with Burnaby’s first round selection in the 2026 Junior Entry Draft.

The 2024 regular season has just over two weeks remaining, with playoffs slated to start as early as July 15 - the semifinal series will be best of seven (1 vs 4, 2 vs 3) with both teams advancing to the Minto Cup. The final series will be best of five starting later in July. The 2024 Minto Cup starts Aug. 17 in Coquitlam.
