Minto Cup and Memorial Cup on Display
MINTO CUP ON DISPLAY DURING JUNIOR 'A' NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Minto Cup Championship is one of the oldest national sports championships with over a 100 years of tradition. The Minto Cup is a beautiful silver cup donated back in May 31, 1901.
Although the trophy is on permanent display at the Canadian Lacrosse Hall Of Fame in New Westminster and too fragile to be moved, the presenters trophy will be on display during this year’s week long championships held at Queen's Park Arena Aug 24 - Sept 1st.
We wanted to give Lacrosse fans the opportunity to see the trophy up close and have their picture taken with the trophy.
Fans will be able to bring their cameras and have a picture taken with the trophy, nightly from 6:00PM until the end of the first period. We will also have other lacrosse memorabilia on display all week long, courtesy of the Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
MEMORIAL CUP VISITS QUEEN'S PARK AUG. 27th
Courtesy of the 2007 Memorial Cup Champion Vancouver Giants, we have arranged to have the Memorial Cup available for all Lacrosse fans to have their picture taken with the trophy prior to the game between the Ontario and Alberta Champions on August 27th.
We are also hoping to have several players available but won't know until the last minute on their availability. The Memorial Cup will be displayed starting at 6:00 p.m.
We wanted to recognize the great accomplishment of the Vancouver Giants along with celebrating this year’s Minto Cup Championships.
