Luncheon Kicks Off 2007 Minto Cup
The New Westminster Salmonbellies, as hosts of the 2007 Minto Cup National Championships, along with the City of New Westminster, will be hosting the Media luncheon at Centre floor of Queen's Park Arena.
“The wooden floor has hosted many championships over the years but never has it hosted an event like this. We wanted to do something different this year for the opening. This is the best Lacrosse venue in all of Canada and the new wooden floor is a pretty special place to play so why not show case it at the opening luncheon.” said Team Governor Walt Weaver.
The luncheon will open with the Canadian Armed Forces marching in with the Minto Cup followed by a ceremonial native dance blessing the Minto Cup Championships, to be performed by the North Shore Indian Band.
Although the event is not open to the public, all teams, media and invited guests will experience a truly unique kick off to the week. Later that night the opening game between Alberta and British Columbia Team #2 starts at 7:30PM.
