Langley Thunder Name New Head Coach
Rey Comeault of Maple Ridge is the new head coach of the Langley Thunder.
Comeault - a well known figure in British Columbia Lacrosse coaching circles - takes the helm immediately as the Thunder try to improve on a 1-8-1 record this year.
The new coach steps up to junior A with a CV that includes Provincial and National championships with a series of minor box and field lacrosse clubs.
'We're really pleased that Rey has agreed to join our organization,' said GM Brock Rose. 'We feel he can get the team in touch with all their talent,' he added.
Asked for his analysis of what it will take to improve the Thunder record, Coach Comeault said, 'The Langley team has a lot of potential. They have good internal leadership and one of the league's better - if not best - goal tenders in Ray Hodgkinson. Winning requires a good combination of skill, attitude and direction. I'm not going to reinvent the wheel. But I will try to simply the approach to the game while trying to utilize the full extent of the talent on the team."
With a trophy list bright with gold and silver medals, in national and provincial competitions in both box and field lacrosse at the Peewee, Midget and Bantam levels, Coach Comeault brings a lot of winning experience to the Thunder.
After a couple of practices, he'll start behind the bench on Friday in Nanaimo and Saturday in Victoria.
