Langley Thunder name Bob Bell as assistant coach
The Langley Thunder have appointed Bob Bell as assistant coach for the 2017 regular season.
Bell joins head coach Shaun Springette's staff fresh off a successful year with a playoff appearance for the Port Coquitlam Saints. He has also spent time with Port Coquitlam's Intermediate program, leading them to a provincial championship in 2014.
Springette praised Bell's experience and says he sees him being a big asset for a young team looking to have a successful season.
"Being able to add a coach like Bob to our staff is huge for us," Springette said. "He is a great coach, an excellent motivator and most of all a wonderful teacher of the game."
Bell has been involved in lacrosse for over 20 years and thinks he'll be a perfect fit on Langley's staff.
"I feel Springette and I will work very well together and are very much aligned with our coaching philosophies," Bell said.
The Thunder open their season with an exhibition tilt with the New Westminster Salmonbellies on Sunday, April 23 at the Langley Events Centre field house. Game time is 5 PM.
