Lakers Win the 2005 Minto Cup

The Burnaby Lakers won the 2005 Minto Cup with an 8-6 victory over the Six Nations Arrows Saturday night in the deciding game.

The Lakers lost the first of the best of three matchup 11-9 to Six Nations on Thursday night. Friday night they defeated Six Nations 13-12 in overtime after being down 10-6 in the third period.

Saturday night Burnaby jumped out to a 4-1 first period lead but were down 5-4 after two periods. The Lakers then outscored Six Nations 4-1 in the final period for the win and Minto Cup victory.
