Islanders Well Represented in McGill Win Over UMass Lowell
McGill University Co-captain Connor Goodwin (Port Coquitlam Saints) of New Westminster, BC, scored twice, including the game-winner at 1:40 of sudden-death overtime to give McGill a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the University of Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks in an exhibition game, Sunday. It was McGill's first-ever victory over an NCAA DI program.
Goodwin, a senior majoring in electrical engineering, also recorded an assist before scoring the winning goal. Senior goalie James Spagnuolo of Burnaby, BC started in net for McGill, played the first 40 minutes and saved 8 of 12 shots.
