Islanders change GM and Head Coach

The Delta Islanders Board of Directors would like to confirm the following changes to their management and coaching staff. Jack Watson, Head Coach, has stepped down from the Head Coaching position that he assumed in December 2010. Rick Clark, appointed as GM in September 2010, has also stepped down from his position. The Board of Directors and players would like to thank both Rick and Jack for their time and commitment to the Delta Islanders Jr A Franchise.

We are pleased to announce that Dave Pirog will move from Assistant Coach to the Head Coach position, effective immediately. Dave is a wonderful teacher of the game of lacrosse and the backbone of our coaching staff over the past few years. Dave is a multiple Mann Cup winner and has held coaching positions from JR A to the NLL. We are extremely pleased that he has accepted the position as Head Coach.

We are also pleased to announce that Jamie Scott will be joining our management staff as our new General Manager. Jamie brings 36 years of successful experience in the game of lacrosse to his new position. His playing career included JR A and 14 years at the Senior A & B level. He has had previous experience as an Assistant Coach with the NewWest Jr A Salmonbellies and Head Coach with the Langley Thunder JRA Team. He has also coached in the Chilliwack Minor Association. Jamie is looking forward to his new role as General Manager with our team.

We are also very fortunate to have Dane Stevens as an Assistant Coach with the Islanders. Dane is a former Delta Islanders JrA player and currently plays with the Edmonton Rush of the NLL and the Burnaby Lakers of the WLA.
