Game of the Week | Week 8

Brought to you by LaxAllStars

New Westminster Salmonbellies @ Delta Islanders - Saturday, June 14 8:00PM

In this high stakes rematch of last week’s game and the season series at a split. The teams will look for what will give them the edge and more importantly the W. With Delta in third and New West in second, both teams are looking to close in on the Adanacs and give themselves top spot in the league.

‘Bellies players Josh Byrne, Tyrell Hammer-Jackson and Nathan Stuart returned home from their college teams last week and it looks as though they could have been the missing piece to a near perfect puzzle. In his first three games back, Byrne has racked up 14 goals and 11 assists putting him in a three way tie for fifth in points amongst his teammates. Coach Dan Perreault will look to keep his team rolling as the match up against Greg Rennie’s Islanders for the teams last regular season match up this summer.

Delta hit a bit of a bump in the road losing two of their last three games, one to New West and one to the Adanacs, but got back on track with a much needed win against the Shamrocks to cap off their week. The Islanders will look to build on what they started on the Island and show the league they deserve to be in the sitting in third. With Delta playing Coquitlam again this week before facing the ‘Bellies, you can expect them to come out looking to knock off the top ranked team in the BCJALL before the game of the week.

With this week looking like a playoff sneak peak for the A’s, ‘Bellies and Islanders, you can be sure to expect nothing but the best from the league’s top dogs.
