Former 'Bellies Up for NCAA Player of the Year
Incredible is the only word to use in describing the May 12th announcement by the NCAA that two former Jr. 'Bellies are amongst the five finalists for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award given to the most outstanding player in NCAA Men's Lacrosse.
2009 New Westminster Salmonbellies graduate and Stony Brook University student Kevin Crowley was American East Conference Player of the Year in 2010, scoring 46 goals and 25 assists.
The other former Jr. 'Bellies nominated for the Tewaaraton is Curtis Dickson. Curtis, also a 2009 Jr. Bellie graduate is now attending the University of Delaware. In his senior year in 2010 Curtis has scored 62 goals this year.
Earlier this week both Kevin and Curtis were named 1st Team All Americans. The Tewaaraton will be awarded on June 3 at a ceremony at the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian.
Both Kevin and Curtis were not only great lacrosse players but also outstanding young men. Good luck guys!
