Delta Islanders forfeit final league game
The BC Junior A Lacrosse League announces the forfeiture by the Delta Islanders this Saturday in Victoria against the Junior Shamrocks.
It is never good for the game when a team has to forfeit a game due to not being able to field a team. Unfortunately, the league was informed Thursday night that the Delta Islanders would not be able to dress a team for their game Saturday on the Island.
It is important to understand that Islanders GM Greg Rennie had contacted Intermediate A teams and Junior B teams to attempt to fill his roster, however he was unable to find enough available players. The Islanders Intermediate A team will be in the Okanagan Saturday playing the Wild and none of those players are available either.
Our league will be disciplining the Delta Islanders appropriately for this unfortunate situation. Again, we apologize to our fans throughout the Greater Victoria area for the unfortunate inconvenience this may have caused.
Respectfully,
Karl Christiansen
President/Commissioner
