COQUITLAM ADANACS

What a BCJALL career it's been for Christian Del Bianco. The goaltender has backstopped the Coquitlam Adanacs to one of the most dominant stretches in BC Junior Lacrosse history, winning a Minto Cup and being one of the key pieces in the A's current run for another National Championship. Del Bianco has done virtually everything there is to do in Junior lacrosse and has gone beyond that, wrestling the starting job from Frank Scigliano in NLL Calgary and even starting a few games for some WLA clubs this season. Everyone that's been around Del Bianco has described the 'tender as classy all the way with the ability to make a difference in every game he plays in. He all but swept most of the major BCJALL awards in deserving fashion.

After being edged out for the Monty Leahy Award as top goaltender by New West's Erik Kratz in 2017, he made sure there was no doubt in the voters' minds who should be named this year. He leads BCJALL goalies in GAA (5.60) and save percentage (.856) and was second behind Kratz in wins with 12, albeit despite playing in 3 less games and almost 500 minutes less of game action.

He turned it up another notch in the playoffs, where he was unbeatable for large stretches of Coquitlam's series wins against Victoria and New West. His save percentage went up to an incredible .880 in the playoffs, and he lead playoff goalies again in GAA, this time with a 4.60 mark. He allowed 29 goals in 6 games in the BCJALL finals against the 'Bellies. Del Bianco was also a major factor in Coquitlam's transition game, which has to be considered one of, if not the best in the country, with 11 assists. He was also named BCJALL Finals MVP.

Del Bianco will be a household name for years to come if he isn't already in many lacrosse circles. He is virtually assured of being the No. 1 overall selection in this winter's WLA Draft and will be a transcendent player to whichever team he goes to. He has shouldered the load for 5 years in the BCJALL now, and will be a massive hole to replace for Coquitlam in the offseason, although there is another potentially dominant goalie in Nate Faccin waiting in the wings.

We wish Christian all the best going forward in his lacrosse career and can't wait to see what he's able to do next.
