Burnaby Lakers add to coaching staff

The Burnaby Lakers are gearing up for the fast-approaching 2017 BCJALL season, adding assistant coach Jamie Floris to head coach Jason Dallavalle's coaching staff.

Floris has a decorated history as a Junior A player, winning Minto Cups in 2001 and 2003 with Ontario's St. Catherines Athletics. He played five years of junior lacrosse in total before heading west to play in the Western Lacrosse Association with the New Westminster Salmonbellies. He also had a stint in the National Lacrosse League, playing with the Edmonton Rush and Colorado Mammoth in 2008 to 2011.

He also has years of coaching experience in both minor and senior lacrosse. He won a provincial championship with New West's midget team in 2012 before winning BCILL coach of the year in 2013.

"We are very happy to have Jamie on our coaching staff as he has a great mind for the game of lacrosse from playing at high levels throughout his career," said Burnaby general manager Jamie Scott.

Burnaby opens the season at The Swamp, hosting Victoria on Sunday, April 23.

The Lakers are still looking to add an assistant coach to help on the defensive side of the ball. If you are interested, contact Jamie Scott at jt.scott@live.ca for more information.
