Bellies Name Staff for 2018 Season
The New Westminster Junior Salmonbellies have announced their new coaching staff for the 2018 season.
Rich Catton has been named the new head coach along with new assistant coaches Daren Fridge and Sheldon Palidwor. All three men bring a wealth of lacrosse experience to the bench and are well known in the local lacrosse community for their contributions.
Catton played 16 years in the WLA and another 11 in the NLL, winning a Mann Cup in 2005 with the Victoria Shamrocks and a NLL championship with Colorado the next year. He is a born and bred New Westminster player and has experience as an assistant coach with the Jr. Bellies as well.
He is joined by Fridge, who is currently a western scout for the NLL's Saskatchewan Rush. He has an extensive coaching resume, including a previous stop in the WLA with the Maple Ridge Burrards.
Sheldon Palidwor is another New Westminster guy and has both coaching and playing experience with the Salmonbellies organization.
"We could not be more pleased about our coaching staff for the upcoming season," GM Warren Goss said. "We have an amazing blend of experience, competitiveness and a passion for Salmonbellies pride and tradition."
