'Bellies Add Ass't Coaches
The void left in the defensive coaching position with the recent appointment of Ray Porcellato as the club’s ‘Assistant General Manager’, has finally been filled. Head Coach Dan Perreault is pleased to announce that both Dwight Maetche and Brad Parker will serve as the clubs new assistant coaches joining Derek Dickson for the 2012 season.
Dwight spent last season as the team’s ‘Goaltending Coach’ and will expand his role to include a more active role on the bench. Dwight’s vast lacrosse experience, which includes a long ‘Hall of Fame’ worthy carrier in both the WLA and NLL, brings a unique perspective to both the defensive and offensive side of the ball that will complement the 'Bellies new Transition first philosophy. Dwight is no stranger to the role as assistant coach having last severed in 2009 with Dan in Coquitlam.
Brad re-joins the coaching staff after taking the last 2 seasons off due to work commitments. Brad last served as the Jr. A Salmonbellies Head Coach in 2009 after 3 very successful years as the Salmonbellies Intermediate A Head Coach, the last 2 years (2007 & 2008) culminating as Provincial Champs. Brad’s familiarity with the returning veteran group makes the transition almost seamless and his ability to relate to the younger players with mutual respect and command discipline without sacrificing the players trust and willingness to compete will be a huge asset to Dan as the 'Bellies address the changing roster with a group of enthusiastic graduating ‘Intermediate A Provincial Champions’ players.
