BCJALL Participates in Jersey Day for Humboldt Tragedy

by Owen Munro

The BCJALL is proud to announce the participation in a nationwide #JerseyDay in order to pay tribute and mourn the victims and their families in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash tragedy.

While the Broncos donned the gold and green, we are encouraging all players, coaches, volunteers, and fans to put on a jersey of any kind on Thursday, April 12 to show your support for those affected by the disaster. The idea was originally thought up by a group of hockey parents with the Langley Minor Hockey Association, who wanted some way to show solidarity.

They're hoping it goes viral, and have already gotten responses from Vancouver, Chicago, Winnipeg and as far East as Halifax. You can help do your part by tweeting out a picture of your jersey choice and giving it the hashtag #JerseyDay or #HumboldtStrong.

You can also donate to the victims by attending a donation benefit at the Coquitlam Sports Centre on Poirier St. on Thursday night at 8:00 or by heading to the online GoFundMe page, which has amazingly surpassed $7.5M.
