HARRY FERGUSON MEMORIAL AWARD

EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR

RON HAMPTON, ROD WOOD, LORNE MCINERNEY, WADE MURRAY - VICTORIA SHAMROCKS

The Victoria Shamrocks are headed to their first Minto Cup since 2008 when they lost in the finals to the Orangeville Northmen. In the past few seasons, they have looked to break back into the National Championship but were never able to make it happen until this season. Much of that is due to the players put on the floor by the Shamrocks' management, who finally found the right formula to propel them to the big dance.

They've done well adding substantial pieces to the roster, a process that actually started last season by bringing in Cameron Dunkerley from Orangeville. After a season of transition, Dunkerley put up monster numbers and made a number of huge saves along the way, particularly in Victoria's semifinal win over New Westminster. It continued this offseason with a major add in the Draft with Kyle Pepper who has contributed regularly, followed by a major in-season acquisition in Teioshantathe McComber from Six Nations.

McComber had a stellar postseason, leading the league in both points (31) and goals (14). He and Zach Manns (20 assists) have combined to become a lethal duo.

Victoria has also managed to build a strong supporting cast that can play a number of different ways. It's a testament to Victoria's executive that Victoria has been able to perform among the league's best year in and year out. Congratulations on winning the prestigious Harry Ferguson Memorial Award!
