BCJALL AWARDS: Kratz king of the crease
MONTY LEAHY AWARD
TOP GOALIE
ERIK KRATZ, NEW WESTMINSTER SALMONBELLIES
In his second full season as a starter in the Salmonbellies crease, Erik Kratz quickly turned into a revelation for the club. He had a good year in 2016, but really turned it on this season, becoming one of the most dominant goalies en route to being named this year's top goalie.
Kratz improved in every major statistical category, posting career highs in wins, goals allowed, shots stopped and save percentage. He had a stellar year, making all but four starts and going 12-4-1 in them. One of the more dominating stats is how many goals he allowed in any given game - just six. If your goalie is only allowing six goals on any given night, you're likely in a good spot.
Kratz was also solid in the team's sweep over Port Coquitlam, and they can only hope he will carry that on to the BCJALL Finals against the Coquitlam Adanacs.
