BCJALL AWARDS: Bowering tabbed as Top D

REGINALD "POP" PHILLIPS MEMORIAL AWARD

BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER

This player will be judged on his defensive skills. This player must have ability and show good sportsmanship.

REID BOWERING, COQUITLAM ADANACS

Reid Bowering is now a two-time defensive player of the year.

Reid was named the best defensive player in the league again in 2017, and it's easy to see why. Bowering has a hard-to-teach combination of physicality, athleticism and pure talent that makes just about any offensive players outing against Coquitlam a nightmare.

He's a shutdown D guy who also communicates well with his teammates and is a hound on loose balls. He plays an honest game, only accruing four penalty minutes all season, and even chipped in a power play goal this year. He fits what the Adanacs want to do on defense and that has helped maximize his potential.

Look for Bowering to be coming out of the back gate on an NLL team in the not too distant future.
