BCJALL Announces New President and Commissioner

British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League announces new President and Commissioner 

BURNABY, BC – The British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League (BCJALL) announced the appointment of Karl Christiansen of Maple Ridge, BC, as its new president and commissioner. 

Christiansen, who is replacing Ken Wood who resigned at the end of the 2015 season, will take on the position of president and commissioner and continue in his role of league disciplinarian. Bev Mosdell was also named as the new vice president of administration and will be working with Christiansen in leading the league into 2016. 

For the past two seasons, Christiansen had been the vice president of lacrosse operations, dealing with league discipline. He has also been a coach and official within the BCJALL. His first task will be in organizing the BC Junior A Lacrosse 2016 Draft which will be held on January 9, 2016. 

“On behalf of the board of governors, I want to congratulate and welcome Karl to his new position of President of the BCJALL,’” said James Abbott, the newly appointed Chairman of the BCJALL Board of Governors. “Karl brings 36 years experience in lacrosse including 17 total with the BCJALL as a referee, coach and board member. Karl's commitment, passion and integrity will keep our league moving in a positive direction.” 

The BCJALL is the premier lacrosse league in B.C. for box lacrosse players aged 17-21. The league season runs from end of April until the end of August and plays for the Minto Cup national championship.
