BCJALL Announces 2021 Return to Play

by Owen Munro

The BC Junior A Lacrosse League is ecstatic to announce that box lacrosse will be back this summer.

The Board of Governors has looked at a variety of options and has decided the most optimal and safest route is to hold a “Summer Showcase Series” to begin around the beginning of July. This showcase will follow all provincial health orders and run in accordance with BC’s restart plan. All eight teams would be involved with games taking place at venues across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

Stage 2 of BC’s restart plan allows for competitive games to be played indoors. Currently, our teams have been restricted to holding player workouts in smaller groups. This will give our players the best opportunity to showcase their skills to NLL, NCAA, and WLA associations. It will also allow them to properly develop and not miss out on a second straight box lacrosse season.

We are still working through the specifics of what this summer will look like, but we are excited to see teams back competing on the floor.

We thank all players, coaches, management, league officials, and most importantly, the fans, for sticking with us through these difficult times. We are almost at the end of the road, and we are just as thrilled as everyone else to return to some level of normalcy.

More information will be released in the coming days and weeks.
