Announcing the 2021 Mainland Championship and Island Series
The BCJALL is pleased to announce the 2021 exhibition season will continue a little longer with the agreement of the Board of Governors to play for a Mainland Championship and add extra games to the Island Series to keep the players on the floor for as many games as possible.
Seeding for the Mainland Championship will be determined by each team's winning percentage during the exhibition season which concludes August 1. The first- and second-ranked mainland teams will have a bye in the first round, which will see the third- and sixth-ranked teams, and the fourth- and fifth-ranked teams face off in a pair of concurrent best-of-three series between August 2 and August 5.
At the same time, the Shamrocks and Timbermen will continue the Island Series with a set of three games on August 3rd and August 5th at Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo, and will wrap up with a blast from the past as Victoria hosts Retro Night at Archie Browning Sports Centre in Esquimalt on August 7th.
The second round of the Mainland Championship will run as either a best-of-three or best-of-five series between August 5 and August 11, with the winner of 3v6 taking on the second-ranked team, and the winner of 4v5 taking on the first-ranked team.
The final round will take place between August 11 and August 18 as either a best-of-five or best-of-seven series between the winners of the second round series.
As teams are eliminated, they may choose to play an additional series against the team that was eliminated at the same time. All game dates, times, locations, and length of series will be determined at a later date based on arena and player availability. Stay tuned to BCJALL.com for more information as the series progress.
