A's still Undefeated--Just...

On paper, one would be presumptuous that a game between the Langley Thunder and Coquitlam Adanacs would result in a comfortable victory for the A's, who haven't lost in the BCJALL so far this season. Thursday night would prove to be a bit uncomfortable for Coquitlam, who took fifty minutes to gain a lead versus the Thunder, and narrowly escaped with their seventh win.

If any stars were given out at Junior A lacrosse games all three of tonight's would have gone to Thunder goalie Ray Hodgkinson, who in addition to keeping the A's to only ten goals, faced 62 shots on the night. Hodgkinson was a huge, if not the factor in keeping one of the leagues best power plays to only two PP goals on nine opportunities.

After facing the equivalent of a shot a minute in the first two periods, he didn't let his fatigue show too much in the final frame and continued to make key saves when needed. In just two games wearing a Thunder uniform, Hodgkinson has faced 114 shots.

Even though it was a box lacrosse game tonight in Langley, between the two teams it was a field day on the floor with seven players coming off successful seasons with eastern colleges in the USA. Trevor Moore and Corbyn Tao finished first and second (respectively) in team scoring for Robert Morris University, and had seven combined points for the A's in the game tonight. In addition to Surrey native Andrew Bromley who plays for Providence University, Langley has four legitimate Americans in their line up; returning player Greg Mahony from Mercer Island brought two of his Yale teammates with him (Brendan and Matt Gibson); and Alex Fox from Amherst College decided to try his hand at box lacrosse with the Gibson brothers, since they are all from the same hometown in New York.
