2014 NLL Entry Draft - BCJALL Players Selected

(Photo Courtesy NLL/Greg Abel) -- Last night the National Lacrosse League (NLL) held their annual entry draft. The draft consisted of six (6) rounds and fifty five (55) picks overall. The NLL draws its talent from a large pool of Junior Canadian Lacrosse Association and collegiate NCAA players. The British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League was well represented with eleven (11) players selected having BCJALL experience, which translates into 20% of the 2014 draft class. The highlight of the night came early as Coquitlam Adanacs Alumni Ben McIntosh was selected first overall by the Edmonton Rush.

McIntosh will join the Edmonton Rush who are coming off a record breaking 2014 season. The Edmonton Rush have been able to build a solid foundation with a mix of experience and youth. This was the Rush's second first overall pick in the last three years. They selects Mark Mathews first overall in 2012, who also played for the Coquitlam Adanacs before heading east to join the Whitby Warriors.

This draft marks the fourth consecutive year that a BCJALL player was drafted first overall: 2011 Philadelphia - Kevin Crowley (New Westminster Salmonbellies), 2012 Edmonton Rush - Mark Matthews (Coquitlam Adanacs & Whitby Warriors), 2013 Minnesota Swarm - Logan Schuss (Delta Islanders), and 2014 [below]
